Students Participate in Beach and Snorkeling Activities
On Friday 9/19, 42 Marine/Environmental Science students braved the elements and the jellyfish as they snorkeled over Horseshoe Reef in the Florida Keys. Despite the rainy start students were able to enjoy the warm water and view many (shark, grouper, sea turtle, barracuda, Elkhorn coral) marine organisms in their natural habitat and on Saturday 9/20, over 100 MSD Marine/Environmental students, club members, alumni, faculty, and family members participated in The International Coastal Cleanup on Deerfield Beach. Volunteers collected over 1500 pounds of debris at the Deerfield location.
