Scholastic Art Silver Key
Congratulations to Nina Gregg, 10th grade, for being honored at the Scholastic Art ceremony at Young at Art on 2/28. Both of her pieces were recognized, one earning a Silver Key and the other an honorable mention. We are so proud of Nina's accomplishments; keep up the fantastic work!
JV and Open Guard, 1st Place
Congratulations to the Stoneman Douglas JV and Open Winter Guards for their 1st Place win at the South Florida Winter Guard Association Contest held at Stoneman Douglas High School this past Saturday. Both performances were Awesome!!! 52 Winter Guards from Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach county participated in this Winter Guard competition. Go Eagles!!!
Robotics Team is awarded $11,000 in Grants
Stoneman Douglas’ robotics team was awarded a $6000 grant from NASA and a $5000 grant from Motorola in their inaugural year. Founded by Douglas seniors Jake Schlinkmann, Bryan Weissman, and Zach Weingarten and faculty advisor Frank Krar, “Breaking Bot” began work on their robot on January 4th.
